I woke up this morning to find my water tank empty.
Upon further investigation I discovered that the cause of the problem. Apparently an avocado fruit that located nearby the water tank fell and broke the ½ inch pipe heading to the water tank. Never one to shy away from a challenge I assessed the extent of the damage and went to work
The great thing about this DIYS is that most of the work has already been done.
What I discovered upon investigation were as follows
1) One of the joints connected by a male ½ adapter had been unstuck thus allowing the pipe to be removed and cemented with pvc solvent.
2) There were existing connections that had been condemned and thus allows me to focus on the main connection to the tank
Tools used are as follows
1) Hacksaw blade2) 1 bottle pvc solvent
the First step would be to turn off the water supply in the line. Then similar to the Previous DIYS use the hack saw blade and prepare the end that is desired to be stuck with the pvc cement. Make sure that ends are cleaned properly
Apply PVC solvent to each end and place ½ pvc pipe into the ½ pvc male adapter and hold firmly for 30 seconds
Give an additional 15 minutes or more before the solvent has successfully bonded the two ends together
Like the practical advice given as well as the pictures presented of the process and the products to be used! These are very helpful when attempting a DIY project.

ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I would like to know how to identify what types of taps for kitchen sinks and face basins are repairable if they start to leak and which ones are not.
ReplyDeleteYou are not only a DIY genius but also a detective! Brilliant yet simple.
